Board of Specified Jurisdiction
The Board of Specified Jurisdiction or BSJ for the Academy of St. Priscilla at Divine Savior has been established by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Sr. Mary Paul McCaughey, OP. The BSJ was created to assist the school community in the governance in specified areas of the school, consistent with the policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and best ideas promulgated by the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Office of Catholic Schools.
It is recommended that a BSJ be composed of 11 to 21 members. An individual is appointed by the superintendent for a specified term and is selected based upon certain skill set and expertise. A maximum of twenty percent (20%) of the Board members may be non-Catholic. Board members may be:
The Archdiocese of Chicago is a corporation sole. The Archbishop empowers the members of the BSJ with specified responsibilities/powers. The following are the charge of the BSJ:
The commitment of the Board members is to attend Board meetings and actively participate on one of the BSJ committees which include: Executive, Ministry/Mission, Member Development, Policy and Planning, Fiscal Management, and Institutional Advancement.
